Head of CRO Services

About the role

The Head of CRO Services is responsible for operational management and development, in line with the strategic direction, of the Contract Research Organization. This role involves overseeing the delivery of services to our external clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving growth and innovation within the CRO services.

You will report to the Chief Operations Officer and be part of the Operations management team. The role is located at the Svar Life Science HQ in Malmö/Arlöv, Sweden and involves the ability to travel as needed for collaboration with external sites and/or participation in conferences.

Examples of tasks and responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategies to expand and enhance CRO services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals in cooperation with the COO.
• Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the CRO division, including project management, clinical operations, and resource allocation.
• Client Relations: Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and effective communication in collaboration with Sales and Project Managers.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects and operations comply with relevant regulatory standards and guidelines in collaboration with QA.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of 15 professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Financial Oversight: Manage the budget of the CRO division, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
• Innovation and Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation within the CRO services.

• Academic degree in pharmaceutical, biomedical, chemistry or related field
• Experience and/or understanding of clinical research or CRO management
• Experience leading and developing a team
• Knowledge and in-depth understanding of regulatory requirements, clinical trial processes, and industry best practices
• Experience managing a business with multiple projects, drive results and understand profitability drivers
• Business acumen, commercial interest or understanding
